What is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a form of priniting in which a liquid (typically ink, but other options include glue and varnish) is applied to a material by being pushed through a fabric mesh by a rubber squeegee. The print area is defined by an opqaque stencil that blocks the liquid from reaching the non-print areas.

What are the advantages of Screen Printing?

Screen printing is the most versatile print technology available, both in terms of the range of liquids that can be applied to a material, and in the range of materials that can be printed.

The first reason to screen print are the colours which can be achieved. Screen printing delivers rich, bold, and brilliant colors, as well as being able to print various specialty inks which include metallic, dry erase, non skid, magnetic, chalk board and many others. Prints are also highly durable, typically suitable for resisting direct exposure to the elements for a minimum of several years.

What materials can Screen Printing be used with?

Whether you are printing signs on corrugated plastic, styrene, foamcore, expanded PVC or polyethylene, or decals on vinyl or polyester, control panels and graphic overlays from polycarbonate or polyester, nameplates on aluminum or stainless steel, the list of materials that can be screen printed and fabricated are almost limitless.
